Bringing Erasmus+ Learning Home: Empowering Youth on Digital Safety

After attending the Erasmus+ training course Conscious Bodies: E-ntimacy in Tivoli, Italy, the Danish team — Bogdan, Stolika, and Adriana — brought the learning home to Pangaea Youth Space in Horsens. Over carrot cake, snacks, coffee, and tea, participants explored digital intimacy, online safety, and discussed how these issues affect young people in today’s generation.

Main Takeaways

  • Youth workers gained practical tools to support young people in online safety and digital relationships by becoming a part of awareness and raising the voice against it.

  • Erasmus+ projects not only empower youth but also helps in strengthening local communities through sharing experiences.

Highlights

After returning from Tivoli, Bogdan, Stolika, and Adriana organized a cosy evening at Pangaea Youth Space to share their Erasmus+ learning with the local community. The event welcomed youth workers, community members, and interested young people, creating an informal and friendly environment.

The team presented the Conscious Bodies: E-ntimacy project, explaining its focus on digital safety, healthy online relationships, consent, and the risks of intimate exposure online. Using examples and personal reflections from the training in Italy, they highlighted real-life situations young people may encounter on social media and messaging platforms.

Participants were encouraged to ask questions, share their experiences, and discuss challenges they face when supporting youth in digital spaces. The conversation explored topics such as maintaining privacy, understanding boundaries in online communication, recognizing risky situations, and how youth workers can provide guidance.

By combining structured insights with open point of views , the evening became more than a presentation , it was a space for learning, reflection, and peer exchange, helping both youth workers and young participants connect theory from Erasmus+ with practical steps they can apply in their local community.

Why It Matters

This evening was more than just an information session — it created a space for learning, dialogue, and community building. By sharing insights from the Erasmus+ training in Tivoli, the Danish team helped local youth workers and young people understand the importance of digital safety and healthy online relationships and also inspire everyone that they should grab the opportunity to participate in such empowering projects.

Participants learned valuable insights  and strategies from the project which they can use in everyday youth work, such as guiding young people on privacy settings, recognizing risky online situations, and supporting peers in conversations about intimacy and consent.

The session also highlighted how knowledge from international Erasmus+ projects can be transferred locally, strengthening the skills of youth workers and empowering young people to navigate the digital world safely. By connecting international learning to local realities, the workshop reinforced community ties, inclusion, and youth participation, showing how global projects can have a tangible impact at home.
