The "Crown Jewel" of Horsens: A Flavorful Recap of Our International Cooking Event

If Friday was about the grit of 70s cinema, Saturday, March 7th, was all about the warmth of the kitchen. Our Cooking Event at the Pangaea office brought together 11 people from across the globe for a culinary journey that proved, once again, that food is the ultimate universal language.

The "Crown Jewel" of Horsens: A Flavorful Recap of Our International Cooking Event

From Tech Struggles to Culinary Masterpieces

The highlight of the weekend was seeing the versatility of our team. Our intern Pablo, who had spent the previous night battling projector cables during our Movie Night, traded the screwdriver for a frying pan. Hosting as a chef, Pablo guided the group through a menu that was as diverse as the participants themselves.

The "Jewel in the Crown"

While the table was filled with incredible dishes, one stood out as the undisputed star: Authentic Spanish Croquetas. 🇪🇸

Described by everyone present as a "culinary delicacy," these golden, creamy bites were the "jewel in the crown" of the afternoon. They weren't just food; they were a piece of Spanish heritage shared right here in the heart of Denmark.

A Global Feast

But the croquetas weren't alone on the stage. The 11 of us enjoyed a truly international spread:

  • 🥗 Bulgarian Traditions: A fresh, typical Bulgarian salad that brought the perfect crunch to the meal.

  • 🥦 Green & Savory: A dish of buttered broccoli that proved even the simplest ingredients can shine with the right touch.

  • And more: A variety of side dishes brought by the different nationalities present, making every plate a map of the world.

More Than Just a Meal

At Pangaea Youth Network, these "Cooking Events" aren't just about eating. They are about the conversations that happen while the oil is sizzling and the laughter shared while chopping vegetables. With 11 different backgrounds sitting at one table, we didn't just share recipes—we shared stories.

The success of the Cooking Event reminds us why we do what we do at Kamtjatka 8: creating a space where internationals in Horsens can feel at home, one croqueta at a time.
