What Is the Community Cooking?
The Community Cooking is a warm, community-led gathering where we cook and share a meal made from surplus food donated by local supermarkets and bakeries.
It’s a place to:
meet new people
connect across cultures
support sustainability
enjoy a relaxed Saturday afternoon
Everyone is welcome – students, internationals, newcomers, and locals.
How It Works
We collect surplus food from local shops.
We cook together - simple, tasty dishes anyone can help with.
We sit down, eat and talk, like one big international family.
You don't need cooking experience - just bring yourself.
It is possible for a donation of 20 dkk to collect a grocery bag of whatever extra groceries are available ATM.
Why It Matters
Our Community Lunch helps to:
Reduce food waste
Build friendships and social connections
Create a space for internationals to feel at home
Keep things affordable for students and young people
Encourage volunteering and community involvement
A shared meal can turn strangers into friends - this is what the lunch is all about.
